This department was founded in 2008 to investigate the possible and applicable methods via treating the most environmental problems using environmental technologies. It endeavors to carry out the following goals:

- Applying environmental technologies in treating the environmental pollutions in natural ecosystems and wastewater. 

- Propose researches and academic studies to develop new technologies and methods that help in limiting environmental contamination.

- Raise the environmental awareness of local and governmental staffs via holding workshops and training courses.
