In continuation of the work of the Joint Working Group between the Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology and the Ministry of Water Resources, which is responsible for the preparation of an "Evaluation Study for the Community Management of Nile Flower Plants in Iraq" and "Guidance Guide for Sustainable Management of the Bio-Nile System of the Nile" On 21 and 22 February 2018.

The workshops were designed to answer those present about the benefits and disadvantages of the presence of the Nile Flower plant, how to maximize these benefits and reduce the damage, and ways to generalize these procedures at the regional and national levels. The workshop was attended by elites from the sectors of work, society, civil society organizations, volunteers and media from the governorates where the plant is located. The workshop was conducted by the Environmental Research Center, while the Ministry of Water Resources provided logistical support. The two workshops came out with a number of important recommendations that will be prepared and presented to Ministry of Water Resources officials for appropriate decisions.

Among the activities of the cultural season of our center, Engineer Ahmad Natiq Ghazi gave a seminar entitled "Alternatives to renewable energy sources" on Monday, 5/3/2018 on the blue hall in the center, where he summarized his lecture as follows:

Coal, natural gas and oil are among the worst sources of energy. They fill our atmosphere with toxic gases and directly and negatively affect the Earth's climate, as well as its non-sustainability. Renewable sources such as wind and water turbines, solar panels and nuclear reactors, although they are clean and renewable sources of energy, have several disadvantages in terms of cost and effectiveness. Scientists are developing new designs for renewable energy sources that are more efficient, efficient and less expensive than traditional sources of renewable energy. These alternatives are applied in some countries of the developed world and have proved effective in the production of electricity, so we hope to expand the scope of these sources all over the world and rely entirely on the production of clean or alternative electricity. From these sources:
1- Airborne wind turbine
2- Solar windows
3- Algae
4- Viruses
5- Betarai
6- Thorium
7- Oysters

Congratulation

Pure congratulations on flowers and fresh fruit from the management and staff of the Center for Environmental Research / University of Technology on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8

Greetings of love, pride and pride of Iraqi women mother, sister and daughter because of their effective role in building society .......... Every year and you are good

Among the activities of the cultural season of our center, Engineer Ali Nasser Ali gave a seminar entitled "Magnetic agriculture" on Monday, 19/2/2018 on the blue hall in the center, where he summarized his lecture as follows:

Magnetic techniques are used to generate a strong magnetic field that is exposed to seeds or plants to increase germination and growth rates and to resist conditions unsuitable for growth by means of specific devices. For example, there are devices used to magnetize the seeds before germination to make them more lively. Seedlings are also exposed in some species such as palm and tomato during the phase of the magnetic field to improve the growth of these seedlings and vary the duration and strength of exposure depending on the purpose as well as depending on the quality of the plant material, whether seeds or seedlings or seedlings. The advantages of magnetized water: Prevent the formation of calcareous deposits in the irrigation pipes and increase the rates of germination of seeds and increase the retention of soil water and increase the efficiency of irrigation and reduce the amount of irrigation by about 30% and raise the efficiency of salt washing in the soil and increase the efficiency of fertilizer which means less costs and fertilizer easier to absorb fertilizer and increase oxygen In the soil and helps solve the problem of compaction of soil, which accumulates over time and works to increase the growth of roots as a result of increased absorption of nutrients dissolved faster and thus helps to grow the plant and increase the average yield by 40-50% and reduce the proportion of plant disease by 60-70% J Of injury nematode larvae and kills where is the full insect from the root zone.
