Within the framework of the Cultural Season Program of the Environmental Research Center for the academic year 2017-2018, the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Mohamed Jawad, presented a lecture entitled Environmental Indicators, which addressed the importance of using environmental indicators to identify what is happening in the environment, since the environment is very complex system. Indicators provide   considered as simple measurements capable of giving a more practical and economical way to track the state of the environment than if we attempted to record every possible variable in the environment.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, the Center for Environmental Research held its symposium entitled "Water Scarcity in Iraq: Immediate and Future Solutions". The problems of water scarcity were discussed and recommendations made to address immediate and future problems.
