The Fourth International Scientific Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development was organized by the Center for Environmental Research at the University of Technology and the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment. The conference was attended by more than 120 researchers and researchers from various Iraqi governmental and private universities, in addition to the participation of many scientific and academic figures from the Arab Union and the Egyptian universities. At the Intercontinental Hotel City Star Cairo and in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Habib Al-Sadr and Professor Dr. Amin Dway Thamer, President of the University of Technology.

The opening session included a lecture attended by Prof. Dr. Bahram Khader  from Salahuddin University and Professor Najah Aboud Hussein from the University of Basra.

The first day included a workshop on the integrated environmental management of water resources in Iraq, in which Dr. Hussein Al-Atafi, Secretary General of the Arab Water Council, and former Minister of Water Resources in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Dr. Ali Abdul-Zahra Al-Lami participated.

The scientific sessions were held in 16 scientific sessions over a period of two days during which twenty one hundred research papers were presented in various environmental issues.

The meeting was also held on Tuesday 27 November 2018. The Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Dr. Shaker Ahmed Saleh, welcomed the audience and praised the positive role and wide participation of researchers from public and private universities. Dawa Thamer The wide participation and positive interaction between the participating delegations of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and the Environment and the academic and scientific figures in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as the wide participation of Iraqi government universities And called for the importance of scientific communication between the participating delegations and the investment of the outputs of the conference and its recommendations to promote the reality of scientific research to reach positive solutions and applicable to the problems experienced by the environment.

At the conclusion of the Fourth International Scientific Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development, the closing session and recommendations were held in Hurghada, Egypt on Wednesday 24 November 2018. The Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Shaker Ahmed Saleh, welcomed the audience. The preparatory committee for the conference to read the final report and recommendations of the conference where the recommendations were discussed and the committee was assigned to prepare the recommendations for amendment and finalization in the light of the proposals made during the session to be submitted to the relevant bodies and then The President of the University delivered a speech in which he thanked the participating delegations and called on them to communicate with the University of Technology through its scientific departments and research centers and to set up research teams to invest the scientific resources available to develop joint research projects that are applicable and capable of finding effective solutions to the problems of the environment. And to deepen the concept of sustainability.
